SFOTT | Successful reported installs with Tiamo’s boot.efi and SFOTT script.

Successful reported installs with Tiamo’s boot.efi (and SFOTT script).

PLEASE NOTE :

  • Getting it to be installed is ONE thing.
  • Having a usable system is another thing.

For some machines it may be not worth it, to loose wifi, audio and worst have 6 MB of VRAM…
MacPros are the best choices to use Tiamo’s boot.efi because they are upgradable at some point.
you can change Graphic Cards, add NIC or Wifi. All things you can’t do on macbooks macbookpros or minis.

Note again : I have lots of comments asking me if THis video cards works or why only 6 or 64 VRAM shows up, or why wifi is lost. If I have the answer of course I’ll give it. But consider I can’t help with the Post install and with all the Drivers Issues… this is way beyond my scope.

Note 2 : I’ll also add with the time the infos of board-id and model. Give me some time to go back thru all comments….

That being said :

Here are the known Hardware that has been reported working.
Some of them do Have issues, so read the links when there is links.

    Hello,

Question: Is it save to update to 10.8.5. from 10.8.4.?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. King says:

Hi OEM. I followed your instructions and after reading almost your whole website, I managed to bring my old dying MacPro2,1 (3 ghz, 20GBRam, flashed ATI Radeon 5770 card with SSD) from Lion into Mavericks. So far everything works and it is much faster!. You guys deserve a F*MEDAL and THANK YOU, THANK YOU. To prevent an automatic system update from Apple, I already disabled it, however, how about updates for normal regular Apple apps (IWork, etc..)? If there are any post installation steps, that I need to follow, can you guide me as to where to find them? Once again, Thank you.

    • oem oem says:

      Hey King,

Well I did not test all Updates for regular Apple Apps, but there’s no post install steps (until now).

      • King says:

Oem. I went ahead and downloaded the upgrade of the IWork software (Numbers, Keynote and Pages) and as well as JAVA IDE from the apple store and everything works fine. It appears, downloading or upgrading regular apps from the apple store works without any problem. Thank you

    MacPro 1.1
    2×2.66GHz Dual Core Xeon
    16Gb DDR2 FB-DIMM
Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 (pc ROM)
2 HDD partitions (first one for os, second for installer)
    OS X 10.9.5 AppStore copy

I had to make a installer partition, because my mac pro didn’t like booting SFOTT usb. Used the graphics boot.efi.
